Kanmedia invests a great deal of time and money into Research & Development of new and emerging web technologies. We do this to ensure that what we are building today, will still be relevant in the years to come.
In the last 5 years the internet has incorporated many new technologies to increase the accessibility of web sites for users with disabilities, as well as separating information or content from the design of a site. Separating the content of a site to the design has meant that the same information can be pushed to mobile phones, PDA's and other systems such as interactive tv. Information has never been more interchangeable, with systems talking to each other in a common language (XML).
Current technologies are moving away from traditional web browsers or shell applications to create engaging online applications which blur the boundaries between current online and offline programs. For example: Adobe PDF's were traditional sent to proof artwork or documents, which then would be sent backwards and forwards via email, until a satisfactory outcome. Adobe Acrobat 8 now incorporates into the PDF format real-time online collaboration, allowing companies to share and make changes to documents online.
We are currently looking into Adobe Flex, Adobe Apollo and other technologies to provide "Rich Internet Applications" (RIA's) to provide the ever increasing functionality required by business in their online applications.
